Not a good trade. Santana is without question the best pitcher in baseball currently but you would have to give up too much for him. Atkins is a stud 3rd sacker with power and a monster batting ave (very hard to find players like that) and Oswalt while not in Santana's league is a stud pitcher in his own right. Plus the Astro's have a better hitting team and should score more runs than the Twins meaning he should get pretty close to 20 wins this year to go with a sub 3.00 era. That is a pretty hard tradeoff if you think about it.

I assume this was a good deal because you are probably upgrading your keeper list.

Let us say that Johan is a 10/10... Oswalt is a 9/10 and Atkins is a 9/10.

If you have 4 other 9/10 players (Assuming 5 keepers), You will be keeping four 9's and one 10, instead of five 9's.

If this is the case or it is similar, you have made a nice deal my friend.

If this is a keeper league you are giving up two solid keepers for one solid keeper. You are giving Atkins who will be a mainstay in Coors Field for years to come and Oswalt who is a solid number 1 on any team. The benefit for the trade is 4 more wins a few points better ERA and more K's, but think of the offensive production you are giving up!!! This is a bad trade for you, personally I would look in free agency for the extra picthing help, there are a lot of up and coming stars out there, so good luck!!

Atkins isn't very good? Yup, thats why he hit 120 RBIs and had an OPS of close to 1.000. I wouldn't do the deal, you get Santana who is a great pitcher but I feel you give up far too much for him.

Oswalt/Santana are very close in my eyes.

Santana will have tougher pitching matchups game in/game out with no Liriano there. Oswalt gets to pitch in NL. + you lose top 10 3.B.

No Way... and I don't mind Santana either.

I wouldnt do that....

Atkins has one good season with Oswalt who is very good but never been dominate.

Santana is a Pitching triple crown.

Oh but Roy would have had another 20 wins under his belt had the offense come through for him. He is a good pitcher not great but he knows how to get the ball across that plate.

You would be giving up more than you get . But depending on the other players on your team its a fair trade. The twins Will rely more on Santana this season with Liriano hurt and Radke retired. so he will pick up a few more starts.
