It's okay for him to date her IF he is paying the bills, etc. Otherwise, kick him to the streets.....

I sure do.

What's the difference in a 65 year old man dating a 78 year old woman than a 78 year old man dating a 65 year old woman. Happens all the time.

dating is fine....marriage? get a prenup!

but then again I'd give that answer regardless of the age.

Seriously though? If she's got money and he doesn't then tie the 78 year olds assets up in trust that's payable to her so long as she lives and then to her heirs. Then add a codicil to the will to pay him a set amount until he dies...a sum to add to his social security but not to make him wealthy. I don't believe in transferring assets like that in second/third marriages. Assets should stay in her family and not go to his just because she died first.

Awww, how sweet. THat's about how old my husband will be when I'm 78 and I still think I'll be chasing that cutey around.

but, if Miss 78 has alot of money, i would be a touch skeptical. Just hope she'll be careful and protect her interests until she knows for sure his true intentsions. Good luck.

I think if you are both on the same friendship path it would not be a problem. Dating is not marriage. And since YOU control your PURSE he would be the one disappointed if that was his only purpose.

Still, at 65 a male could still enjoy sex. How would you feel about that issue? Perhaps both of you should have a talk should you start dating.

A 78 year old has money?

hey if you wanna date someone do it, you are an adult. go ahead and have fun live live to the fullest and if the fullest includes going out w/ a 78 year old woman do it. and if hes after her money-hey they aren't married yet. I'm sure that would come out in the process.

I think it is alright. I have many friends that are in their twenties married to folks in their late 30's and 40's.

If I questioned someone's motives, I would be foreward enough to mention it to the both parties, only separately. Just to say, hey lady, you are wiser beyond my years, but please be careful." And to the man, "I am glad she is happy, I just wan to ensure your intentions are good."

Nothings wrong with having a heart to heart. And remember, they are dating, not marrying. If they want to marry, recommend a pre-nuptial agreement.

Once you have done your due dilligence to ease your own hesitations, stay out of it. Chances are the person involved have already lived 2/3 of their lives, so they are probably pretty wise.

Good luck.

I think they are both consenting adults and you should back off and myob. I am sure they did not get to be their age because they are both stupid. Age has nothing to do with a relationship when it comes down to love. I seriously doubt he is only after her money somethings money can't buy and that is the truth.

I really don't think it matters. Once you get past 65, anyway. They say women live longer than men, so maybe it'll mean they'll love each other and die together happy. My grandmother has lived 30 years without her husband (who died), I know she's still missing him.

yes it is ok, and no he may not just be after her money, they may actually be falling in love, and since they are close to the ages that they will be joinin the lord then why should they not get married, and enjoy being together.
