I know how to do CTRL+V to paste, but I'm a programmer and doing a lot of copy/paste is hard on my pinkie fingers. I have an emachines keyboard with a one-touch paste button, but the button broke. I'd like to reassign the paste command to another key.

I've been searching the web. I see a lot of articles about creating shortcuts to programs, but nothing about programming an actual command.

You will waste more time, energy, effort and money trying to sneak around than you would if you tried to fix the broken button.
