THE DIXIE CHICKS, DID THEY EARN THEIR GRAMMY's?
HERE IS YOUR SHOT TO LAY DOWN THE FACTS ON WHY THE DIXIE CHICKS EARNED ALL OF THEIR 2007 GRAMMY'S. I DONT THINK THEY DID, I THINK THEIR A "PAPER" CHAMPION OF THE EXTREME LEFT, BUT AS A MODERATE, I BELIEVE EVERYONES VOICE SHOULD BE HEARD. SO, HERE IT IS, YOUR SHOT AT LETTING THE GRAMMY'S AND THE DIXIE CHICKS KNOW JUST WHAT YOU, THE AVERAGE AMERICAN, THINKS ABOUT THE LATEST ATTEMPT OF POLITICIZING THE LATEST AWARD SHOW.

MY OPINON, MARY J BLIGE WORKED HARDER, SOLD MORE RECORDS, AND EARNED THE RIGHT TO WIN THE GRAMMYS. THE CMA AWARDS DIDNT EVEN GIVE THE DIXIE CHICKS ANYTHING. IN THE CMA, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU EARN A AWARD THERE THAN GIVEN ONE.

PS: ARE WE AT A POINT TO WHERE POLITICS ARE TAKEN TO THE POINT IN THE MEDIA TO WHERE WE NOW HAVE AWARD SHOWS CREATING "PAPER" CHAMPIONS IN ORDER TO GIVE THEM AN OUTLET TO EXPRESS THEIR POLITICAL VIEW?

Get off their case! Every American has seen the results from GW and his Bushco administration. What Natalie said... many Texans as well as Americans were thinking this. As a Retired Veteran, I back the Dixie Chicks 1000%. Get our men and women out of Iraq, there was NO need to send them in. Where is Osama Bin Laden at these days, setting on the ranch in Texas? He is the one GW "promised" to hunt down; but hmmmm five years, five months and three days later... he is still on the run. So, What Natalie said... "we are ashamed that the President is from our state." Go one step further.. we are all ashamed he is from America. Freedom of Speech, unless you support the Bushco and helping them bring in the New World Order.

The Dixie Chicks deserved the Grammy's... and CMA lost a wonderful group.

Absolutely believe that they did NOT deserve their Grammy. As a veteran myself, I'm not going to quote anything political since that's not what this question is about. I personally believe that the big three media are simply furious that they cannot FORCE the Dixie Chicks down your throat and make you buy their records again. When the media can no longer control every aspect of your life, they feel like they're losing their grip on the nation. The plain fact is that Dixie Chick concerts are being cancelled for lack of ticket sales, their CD's don't sell, and they're still not played on the radio. Their music is predictable, monotonous, and unappealing. I guess this is what it takes to win a grammy. Without the media and media-owned outlets pounding the Dixie Chick drum on a daily basis, they would have already faded into the darkness of their own self-righteous ignorance and we wouldn't have to be bothered by them anymore. The End......Good Night Kids.

I'm all for freedom of speech. And anyone can say anything they choose, anywhere they want if they are not breaking laws by yelling "Fire" or something like that.

But it seems that the Grammys program people have forgotten their purpose, as have the Academy Awards people. The People's Choice awards are based on popularity and who can sell the most records. The Grammys at one time were based on artistic ability. According to their stated purpose, that's how it still should be. I remember when a rookie could be expected to have a fair chance of winning an award. But not anymore. Now the presenters and MCs make political comments and the jokes are political. If I want to hear political jokes, I watch the late night talk shows and hear better jokes! When I watched the award shows, I tuned in to be entertained. Too bad I can't expect that anymore.

It was a political statement for sure! I had totally forgotten about the Dixie Chicks until the Grammy nominations were talked about. Why can't the chicks let this die?

I back the chicks' opinion but I think that their music is lame and there are far more talented and deserving musicians.

They did not deserve the Grammies based on their music.

And people wonder why no one takes the Grammies seriously as a musical award show!

Did Anna Nicole Smith earn her celebrity status?
The bad thing about America is that the people who
deserve less often get the stardom. The normal
every day person gets nothing.

But perhaps thats the way it should be. I don't want celebrity if I have to live the lives that some live in order to get it.

THEY VERY WELL DESERVED IT, ABSOLUTELY. THEIR SONG "NOT READY TO MAKE NICE" REALLY HITS THE SPOT AND WELL WRITTEN.

IT'S ALL ABOUT FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND I TOTALLY SUPPORT THE DIXIE CHICKS 110%
