hi..which software is best (pc or mac)..if i want to make music, sound effects without using any musical instrument.

i recommend apple logic because it is a massive program that can do anything you want, but it is expensive and might be more than you need. if you want to make music, i would use propellerhead reason or ableton live. they are both simple programs with built in synths and sequencers. reason has better synths, a nice drum machine, and some great samplers. live has a more powerful sequencer and more options for synching with film. both programs have many effects processors and are immensely fun as well. if you can afford it, i highly recommend apple logic. it can do anything you will ever want to do with music or sound editing.

You did say best? Well its Apple Logic Pro 7.2. Its about £900 then you need interfaces and monitors and mastering software etc. All the studio's use it in England and USA. You can get a budget platform sequencer called Logic Express. Visit apple.com and check them out. Sorry if this is not what you meant.

MAC has a great software programs called iLife bundled in OS X. There is a program in there called Garage Tunes that might be what you are looking for.

Anvil Studio is great for composing music not that great at editing though

If you like to use DJ tools I would suggest OTS DJ that is what I use its easy and fun.
