My boyfriend and I broke up recently and we(actually) he decided to try stay in contact and build friendship. We've been together for 3 yrs. As far as I know he still keeps my e-mails under folder "baby" and stuff like that. We call/text each other on the regular basis (twice a day sometimes) he beleives that we'll do better off as friends. But the only thing I don't understand is, do you think he wants some sort of "break" or maybe hoping for us to build our own lifes and then try again. Can somebody explain me what it is??? I'm confused. Don't wanna talk to him about this 'cause it will scare him away (I know that for a fact) we still haven't see each other since break up and don't even know when to expect it (I would love to see him,but don't wanna rush things)

Please help me!!!!

The staying friends thing don't work most of the time. This time it could though there is always the possibility. Just see how things go for awhile and then you will see where the relationship is headed.

"You were a big part of his life for a long time and he still needs to know you are there ,as a safety rope, perhaps?
Or he could be a caring chap who wants to make sure you are still ok.
Let things take their course ,my mam always said "If it`s meant for you , you will have it."
Myself I would put him out of your mind, enjoy life and see what happens. All the best.

Maybe he doesn't know what he wants and he's just taking time out to try and work out what he wants
try to talk to him gently about it but dont push the topic it might push him away even further

To preserve your dignity, stop any kind of communication with him for a while. If he still needs you, he'll initiate it. Sit back and watch.

you both obviously still have feelings for one another, but give him space and if he trully loves you he will realise this and soon come back, after all abscence makes the heart grow fonder

I would just clarify things with him and if he wants to be 'just friends' then move on. If you cling he will run.
