Where did the assumption that being psychic and 'channeling' is evil come from?

i saw constantine, but what does that have to do with anything?

People are scared of what they don't understand. Just like with the Witch trials, people didn't understand what was going on, and even though nobody was getting hurt, and there was not real "evil", they assumed that if someone had powers they could not understand it must be "evil".

God supposedly ignores his creatures until death. Satan corrupts souls while they are alive. I'm like that guy in the matrix who played "constantine" If you didn't see constantine, rent it its inline with what you are asking about!

The Bible Deuteronomy 18;10-12 God says "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery,interprets omens,engages in witchcraft,or casts spells or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults with the dead.Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord!
Also spoken of in the new testament in Galatians.

Well,,,, I'm thinking that people are afraid of what they don't understand... And, fear = bad/evil...
