HERE IS YOUR SHOT TO LAY DOWN THE FACTS ON WHY THE DIXIE CHICKS EARNED ALL OF THEIR 2007 GRAMMY'S. I DONT THINK THEY DID, I THINK THEIR A "PAPER" CHAMPION OF THE EXTREME LEFT, BUT AS A MODERATE, I BELIEVE EVERYONES VOICE SHOULD BE HEARD. SO, HERE IT IS, YOUR SHOT AT LETTING THE GRAMMY'S AND THE DIXIE CHICKS KNOW JUST WHAT YOU, THE AVERAGE AMERICAN, THINKS ABOUT THE LATEST ATTEMPT OF POLITICIZING THE LATEST AWARD SHOW.
MY OPINON, MARY J BLIGE WORKED HARDER, SOLD MORE RECORDS, AND EARNED THE RIGHT TO WIN THE GRAMMYS. THE CMA AWARDS DIDNT EVEN GIVE THE DIXIE CHICKS ANYTHING. IN THE CMA, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU EARN A AWARD THERE THAT GIVEN ONE.
PS: ARE WE AT A POINT TO WHERE POLITICS ARE TAKEN TO THE POINT IN THE MEDIA TO WHERE WE NOW HAVE AWARD SHOWS CREATING "PAPER" CHAMPIONS IN ORDER TO GIVE THEM AN OUTLET TO EXPRESS THEIR POLITICAL VIEW?

I agree that there were complete idiots in the general public that were downright mean and hateful to the Dixie Chicks for expressing their views in their music. I don't think that they "EARNED" this award based on what they had to deal with.
I honestly think they won because of political B.S. period. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. It is a pretty good song, but not good enough to sweep the Grammys like they did. I don't understand the award for album of the year. We never heard anything else from the album!

Absolutely believe that they did NOT deserve their Grammy. As a veteran myself, I'm not going to quote anything political since that's not what this question is about. I personally believe that the big three media are simply furious that they cannot FORCE the Dixie Chicks down your throat and make you buy their records again. When the media can no longer control every aspect of your life, they feel like they're losing their grip on the nation. The plain fact is that Dixie Chick concerts are being cancelled for lack of ticket sales, their CD's don't sell, and they're still not played on the radio. Their music is predictable, monotonous, and unappealing. I guess this is what it takes to win a grammy. Without the media and media-owned outlets pounding the Dixie Chick drum on a daily basis, they would have already faded into the darkness of their own self-righteous ignorance and we wouldn't have to be bothered by them anymore. The Dixie Chicks certainly deserved every award given to them...for all they had gone through just for letting their view be known in a so-called democracy! Although I'm Canadian and not a true country music fans, along with their obvious talent, drive, determination and "balls", these ladies really proved that one doesn't really just have to "Shut Up and Sing", and not back down by stating their "Not Ready To Make Nice"!! Good for them! Mary J and the others have or will have their day and deservedly so!

The Grammy's are so heavily involved in politics as all of Hollywood is. Just wait until The Academy Awards! I seriously doubt any rightwing/pro-Iraq war conservatives will win an Oscar!

Who votes for the grammy winners? Is it the public or a group of people in hollywood? Are they really earning the votes or are they just getting them for their political views?
I dislike the Dixie Chicks because they disgraced their/my country. Luckily they live here where it is allowed and not in some country where they would have been stoned to death. They have the right to say whatever they want and I have the right to disagree strongly with them and call them traitors to their country. God Bless the USA.

they earned them. all MJB did was come out with a new album and get off drugs and love herself. that has nothing to do with music. her songs were good but did she 'really' work that hard to get back up? the dixie chicks deserved it ...screw the CMAs. They have been to hell and back as far as record sales go. to climb up from such a hatred expressed to them by the public is a real comeback.

Yes they did.Many celebrities like Bono and Madonna have made comments about the president,yet only the Dixie Chicks suffered.People should just get over it.

THEY EARNED IT BY PUTTING UP WITH ALL THE IDIOTS CALLING IN DEATH THREATS AND BEING IGNORANT BECAUSE SHE CHOOSE TO EXPRESS HER OPINION!!! It's her right to speak freely and then everyone went berserk because she did!!! The public owes them big time for creating such a mess over nothing!!! They lost lots of money just because they used their rights as Americans to express their feelings about our good for nothing president! I'M EMBARRASSED FOR OUR COUNTRY THAT HE IS OUR LEADER!!!

i think the reason they got there grammy is because the whole shut up and sing thing because they went through that whole conflict (but i kinda like there song)
