I would check out this site . . . very helpful!

1. Usually a little instruction manual comes in the box. Just be patient. It might take a few tries. A little vaseline might help at first, but don't use more than a pea-sized amount. Relax! And make sure you get it far enough in--if you can feel it, it's not in the right spot. And don't worry, it can't get "lost" or "stuck" inside you! Promise!

2. Yes, most women weigh 1lb to 8 lbs more during their period. Lots of us just don't get on the scale during that week! It's kind of "false information" because it's mostly from bloating (water-weight). It will disappear on its own.

3. Yes, dieting still works when you are menstruating. Just remember answer #2. I don't bother to way myself until it's over.

4. For cramps, try a heating pad or a small damp towel in a ziploc bag, heated up in the microwave for no more than 30 seconds. Also, take 2 Tylenol or Advil every 4-6 hours. Follow the directions on the bottle. And no matter how miserable it might feel, doing some moderate exercise REALLY helps when you are cramping. It releases natural endorphins that make pain go "bye-bye."

5. Don't sweat irregularity. Some women are never regular. But, if you are sexually active or think you might be soon, you need to see a gynecologist. It's not bad, and she can answer lots of questions for you.

1 - You do know where your vagina is right? If not, get a mirror and a diagram and look around real good until you can identify all your parts! Hold the tampon in the middle notched part. insert the tampon (bigger side first)up to your fingers, then push the smaller section into the larger section and that will push the cotton into your vagina. Then pull out the applicator and WRAP IT UP and throw it away.

2 - Women do tend to bloat and gain water weight during the period.

3 - If you maintain your normal diet, you may not see a loss of weight during the week of your period because of the water weight, but if you're eating and exercising as you should to lose weight, you'l see the difference in the week after your period.

4 - Midol, Tylonol, Heatpads

5 - Yes. It may take a few years to regulate or it may never. If it's a big problem for you, birth control pills will help you to regulate. It's not uncommon for doctors to prescribe those to younger teens who haven't become sexually active yet for this reason. And also supposedly to help with acne.

Find an adult woman you can talk to about these things if you aren't comfortable going to your own mother. A teacher, school nurse, or counselor will be glad to help you and your questions. They've heard it all so please don't be embarrassed to ask for help when you need it!

1. Read the instructions for your first time. After you tried it a few times you can figure out which way is best for you. Make sure you are relaxed though, if your relaxed your vaginal muscles are relaxed allowing it to slide in easier.

2. Yes, many girls are heavier when they are on their period because they're bloated.

3. You'll still be losing weight while on the diet but you just may not notice it until after your period is over and the bloating goes down.

4. Midol/tylenol/advil will stop cramps. if you don't like medicine than a heating pad really works. just put a heating bad directly on your lower stomach and wait like 10 mins and it soothes them. this obvioulsy only works if your just laying in bed or watching tv. It is also said that people who excercise regularly don't experience cramps as bad. that is something you may want to consider.

5. if you only got your period recently it may not be on the right track yet. Give it time and mark it in your calender when you have it. A normal period comes every 28-31 days and lasts anywhere from 3-7. But it is also possible you just have an irregular period, which many women do. If you are stressed or underweight you may miss periods.

No problem.

Let's see... 1) The tampons come with a brochure that shows you how to insert the tampon (with pictures, which are helpful). You spread your legs apart and insert it into your vagina. Then when you get it in and it feels comfortable you push the plunger to get the tampon out of the applicator and then take the applicator out. You'll have a string hanging out of your body that you'll pull around 4-6 hours later. If it is easy to pull, then it's time, but if you have to tug, it's not. If you have a heavy flow, I recommend 4 hours. Don't leave it in more than 8 hours and be sure to get the right absorbency -- like if you're light flow then don't do super, do regular.

2) I gain about 3 pounds about five or so days before but lose it some time during my period.

3) I'm not on a diet so I don't know...but any weight you gain during your period is just water weight and will go away.

4) Are you keeping up with your cycles on a calendar? Once you start becoming regular you can see when your cycle is about to start and you can take a pain reliever (Tylenol) the day before, or break out the heating pad if you start cramping. I find that the Tylenol the day before or the day of really helps.

5) Yep, good old puberty...I promise though if you'll keep up with the dates on a calendar you will eventually see a pattern. If you ever go on the Pill, you will be able to know too...

Hope this helps!

1- Relax, open your legs wide and insert the tampon into your vagina, aiming towards your lower back. It shouldn't hurt at all, if you're doing it right. Make sure you've got the right hole and if your having trouble inserting it, you may be a little dry down there. So just wet the tip of the applicator and try again. Might help to twist around too.
2- Yes, I notice that I get REAL bloated and feel like a blimp during that time.
3- I've found that I don't notice any weight loss during my period but as long as I keep working out it's all good. Cause after it's over with and my body's back to normal I can tell my exercising has paid off.
4- Keep active. Try sit-ups or crunches. Go on walks.
5- As far as your irregularity, it sounds like you may need to go see your gyno.

HA! I am a guy and I will take a satb at your questions

1. Hmmm...with the applicator that comes with it?
2. Who mean heavier in weight? Probably, women retain a lot of water weight, hence the bloating feeling. I would imagine that it might make you a little heavier.
3. Good question, I do not know since your body will be retaining water weight. I am sure you eont lose as much weight as you would if you were not on your period.
4. Midol and heat pads?
5. Yes, girls are irregular most of their pubescent years, actually even longer. I knew girls in college that were irregular. Nothing to worry about unless you only having your "visit" every 6 months or something.

When you first start your period it will be irregular for the first year or so. To stop cramps take something like ibuprofen or naproxen. Yes youcan loose weight when you have your period and you are dieting. No you should not be heavier during your period unless you are retaining water which some women do. As for inserting a tampon............look at the leaflet that comes with them. Take a mirror and look at your body and then insert them into your vagina at slight angle up and back. Do not try to insert it stright up as the vagina goes straight up and back. Once inserted you cannot feel it. If you can really feel it then you didn't insert it properly so take it out and try again. Once you get the hang of it you will wonder what all the fuss was all about.

1. Why use tampons? I'm 18 and started when I was 11 and never found them comfortable. But in the box, there is a diagram and it's really helpful and has pictures.
2. Alot of woman tend to gain water weight when they're on their period, it's not a big deal, it goes away when your week is over. You might also feel 'bloated' and feel like your pants don't fit.
3. You CAN still lose weight on your period.
4. Midol is my drug when it comes to cramps. I have really bad cramps and it's a saint. I usualy take it at night though, it makes me sleepy. But if you don't want to use pills, use a heating pad on your stomach or back. I'm out alot when I have my period, so I can't really do that...So I just pop some Midol or Liquid Advil and i'm good to go.
5. Your's are probly irregular b/c you're just starting out. Mine wasn't on track until 2 years later. Just give it time. Make sure you mark it on a calender just so you can get a heads up.

Okay. 1.) you need to read the brochure that comes in every box or go to www.beinggirl.com and find the same one there (and a whole lot of answers to any other questions you might have on this topic). 2.) Yes, you gain one or two pounds of water weight. 3.) You can still work your way through a diet, dont stop exercising or anything and it'll still keep helping. 4.) Cramps- either use advil or midol or something like that. They work really well. 5.) Yes, you can have irregular periods for up to 5 years after you start because it still needs to regulate your body - although some girls stay slightly irregular forever. Hope this helps.

1- its really easy trust me. you can read the label on the box or i will just tell you, you have to relax or else it will be hard for it to go in. relaxing works wonders. the 1st time is kind of scary but dont worry you will get use to it. some woman sit on the tolit some sit on the ground whatever is more comfortable. this may be funny but find your hole, and slowly and calmy push the tampon up all the way. if its not all the way it may be uncomfortable. so push it all the way up and you will be good to go. wash your hands after.

2- yes you are heavier during your period and mostly before. its called bloating. because of everything thats going on inside your body is producing extra water, and fat to keep your energy up.

3- yes, you can but its harder. you probally wont feel like it either because of fatigue. and sleepiness. but yeah you can.

4- midol works wonders on cramps bloating and fatigue. try it it really helps. heating pads, baths, and excersizing are great too!

5- periods are irregular for some woman for up to 2 years its because your body still isnt adapt to your period and doesnt have a scheduale yet. it will become regular eventually.

i hope i helped with all your questions! goodluck
