Which is better, a second gen. 8GB iPod nano (2,000 songs, up to 24 hours of battery life.) or a Fifth Gen. 30GB iPod Video. ( 7,500 songs, and only 14 hours of battery life.) I have heard that 30GB iPod Videos have really poor battery life and that you would be very lucky if it lasted 14 hours.

definitely the nano. 2000 songs is a lot and it lasts longer. my sister has a video and its slwo and it takes forever to go around the little circle. mine is very fast and better. plus, are you really going to listen to 7500 songs? doubt it. lol, and if you do listen to all those songs you could always just delte the old songs on your nano!

the respond is a huge "it relies upon". some people like how small the nano is, whilst others are justifiably worried that it would desire to smash too truly. some all people is nuts who would longingly gaze right into a video show this is dwarfed via a business enterprise card, whilst others would evaluate it an annoying adventure at ultimate. the respond you're searching for for relies upon on your answer to those questions: Do you like small contraptions plenty which you will sacrifice good factors? Is your on a regular basis shuttle passive (bus, prepare, etc) or energetic (walking, cycling, driving)? Is there some element of your day once you will desire to sit down down for a whilst and watch or examine some thing? Do you like in basic terms a pair of tracks off of each CD you very own, or do you pay attention to the whole disc from start to end? My solutions to those questions are likely different than yours would be. when I had to make this determination, i did no longer experience comfortable spending $3 hundred, so I took my previous 5GB iPod and paid $60 to get the battery (and something of the unit) replaced with refurbished components, and mine now looks as stable as new.

My husband has the Nano and he loves it. I have the Video and I love mine. It's very handy when we're in restaurants with our daughter and such cause I can just put on Dora or something, make sure its on hold, and she can sit and enjoy it. They both are great, one is just a little more functional for me.

videos(i own a 30gig)have a good battery life. i've never run mine down unless i don't charge it for about a coup[le of weeks, and i listen to my music for about 1 hour a day, and plug it up at the end of the day.

it depends on what your looking for. are you willing to deal with a short battery life? do you really want the videos? do you want more than 2000 songs on it?

I much prefer the Nano. Video is okay, but extremely big, and if you don't have highspeed internet, you couldn't donwload movies anyway. (Only allowed to download 2 GB's...and 1 of them is used to check emails and websurf)

Hope it help :-B
