I'm single too, and also not getting anything. I can honesetly say I don't know why men don't buy things for their significant other. My parents have been married for over 40 years, and I know my father gets my mother something special every VDay.
Anyways, Happy Valentines Day !! There, now you got something. Smile :)

Most guys have stopped being romantic, hence they don't like Valentine's Day. But then, its also a day where girls should show their man how much they love them too - it's not all just about us girls!
As I said in a previous post, romance has been sucked out of this society that we need a special day in order to do sweet things for our partner, and even then some of us couldn't be bothered. Its sad.

I think pretty much all men think its kinda ridiculous to send flowers, cards or gifts just cuz its a certain day of the year.. some dont believe in this hallmark holiday and wont do anything for Vday.. then theres the men who dont believe in it yet still feel obligated to send flowers etc. to make their woman happy

Because most men don't get anything for Valentine's Day and when they do get something it is generally something cheap and cheesy.
A few years of giving diamonds and getting ties can leave a guy feeling unappreciated.

Theres too much commercialisation nowdays...big companys know a man will be in the DOGHOUSE if he doesnt buy anything. Thats B.S.
Christmas is the same way.
I have seriously considered not celebrating any holidays. the only one I would, would have to be christmas but w/ only dinner, friends and the story of Jesus. Isnt that what its really about?.

I have a lot of guy friends...I've asked them about Valentine's Day and from what I understand, they really don't like the holiday. Maybe that's why some don't 'celebrate' it.

I think Valentines Day is overrated I'd rather get her something when she does'nt expect it itsays alot more than doing what everyone else is doing.

I love when women tell their men not to get them anything, but expect something anyways. Men are simple creatures.

I dunno, maybe it's too often the same old-same old that people give up. Maybe it's become such a "give women gifts day," and so little about him too...maybe they get tired of I. Single, so I can only take a guess.
