Do you think that the Pirates should fire Littlefield and spend some money to become a better team.?

Littlefield should have been fired about a year or two ago. We haven't picked up the right players. Take last year's additions of Jeromy Burnitz (used to be a sure bet for at least 25 home runs a year and played poorly for the Pirates) and Joe Randa (who did okay until Freddy Sanchez took over). 1 year later both no longer wear Pirate uniforms. Littlefield is almost as much of a joke as our stupid "we will" slogan. Our guys can't seem to work together and we keep losing 1 run games. Hopefully we fire Littlefield soon.

mcclatchy should sell the team and then littlefield should leave. but then again it is mainly mcclatchy's fault, it is his decision on how much money to spend on the team, littlefield has to deal with how much money mcclatchy wants him to spend. i mean if you were littlefield and you had $40 million to spend on a major league roster, it would definitely not be good.

some of the trades littlefield made were pretty good though. brian giles for jason bay and oliver perez, jeff suppan for freddy sanchez and mike gonzalez, oliver perez and roberto hernandez for xavier nady, and most recently mike gonzalez for adam laroche. not too bad.

it is just that mcclatchy and his partners are still making a profit while spending $40 million or so on the team and they are greedy and don't care whether or not they field a winning team. as long as mcclatchy is around, the pirates will probably continue to stink.

They have been so bad for so long (I can still remember the 9th inning loss to the Braves in the NLCS. Curse Francisco Cabrera) that they should sell the team. Worst ownership in pro sports.

yes they should fire him, but dont spend any more money, trade all the veterans, bring up the AA ball players and give it a shot. can't get much worse than the past decade and a half.
