I do also listen to Nirvana, Bad Company, Duran Duran, Boston, Run DMC, AC/DC, some KISS, & Led Zeppelin

i like those sort of bands too! here's a few other bands you should check out (almost all from the old days and the best rock period: the 60s/70s):
- lynyrd skynyrd (esp. free bird & sweet home alabama)
- the beatles of course (esp. lucy in the sky with diamonds, i am the walrus, and i'm sure you know the other great songs, ...)
- the who (esp. baba o'railey & my generation)
- nirvana (esp. rape me, smells like teen spirit & come as you are)
- steppenwolf (esp. magic carpet ride & born to be wild)
- red hot chili peppers (esp. scar tissu & by the way)
- led zeppelin (esp. stairway to heaven)
- U2 (esp. vertigo, with or without you & sunday bloody sunday)
- the darkness (esp. i believe in a thing called love)
- the kinks (esp. you really got me)
- simon & garfunkel (esp. mrs robinson)
now this band is more punk but it's great:
- the clash (esp. london calling & should i stay or should i go)
- the ramones (esp. my brain is hanging upside down & blitzkrieg pop)
and try the cure and AC/DC as well, they're all great though not as good as the above

The Black Crowes are a band that emerged about 20 years after Aerosmith and The Stones that are heavily influenced by them.
You also can't go wrong with The Who, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Guns N' Roses, and countless others.
As for some of the more underrated acts from that "classic rock" era.......try The Faces (w/ Rod Stewart), Humble Pie, and Thin Lizzy

Personaly i think your best bet is to hit this site. www.pandora.com it is a music site that allows you to type in a song you like or a group/artist and it plays music that is similar to the selection you asked for.
But i say you can never go wrong with led zepplin or pink floyd.
