mick 184 and lara--You need to do some research. I'm not trying to be mean, snarky or condescending. I honestly hope you will find out the truth.

Islam is in every way, incompatible with the western world.

There is no "Compromise" in Islam. It is commanded in the Holy Quran that only Allah(SWT) shall be worshipped in all of the Earth. Muslims believe that the Holy Quran is the immutable word of God, uncreated and unchangeable. If you change one word, or delete one line it renders the whole meaningless and therefore it must be taken as a whole. Not one Muslim would disagree with that statement. At least I don't know how.

Islam is an all encompassing way of life, from the structure of the family unit, to laws governing every aspect of personal life, to political and governmental structure, this is known as Shari'ah Law.

"There can be little doubt that today, as Islam steadily surges forward, powerful and decisive in directing and shaping the flow of events in the Muslim countries, the world is witnessing a phenomenon of far-reaching importance to its future. In this whole movement of Islamic resurgence, nothing stands out as more symbolic of Muslim aspirations than the commitment to re- establish the Shari'ah, the code of conduct for total life laid down by Islam. Every country of the Muslim world is pulsating with an intense longing to shape life in accordance with its precepts. The Shari'ah, in short, in the eyes of friend and foe alike, has come to epitomise the goal towards which Muslims are restlessly trying to advance in quest of their destiny."

--From-SHARIAH-THE WAY TO GOD by Khuram Murad, published by The Muslim Foundation

Look at what is happening in the UK, Norway, Sweden and Germany right now. It's going to happen in the US, and everywhere where the banners of multiculturalism and tolerance are flown. And sadly, if not altered to protect our "infidel" freedoms, they will be our undoing. I wish this was not true.

I'm curious, do I sound hateful? Because I have none in me. I started doing research because I was curious. Instead of reading what pundits said, or reactionaries, or politicians or even the mainstream media, I began reading Islamic sources, so that I would not get a viewpoint with a negative agenda. It has been and continues to be very enlightening.

Here is a good link with loads of information, by Muslims for Muslims. You want to know what they believe, read it for yourself.

There are Muslims who have been living in this country for a very long time they have their Mosque and homes here, things were ok until the Western World tried to tell the Middle Eastern World how to live, so the answer to your question is yes they can coincide but have to respect each other ways.

The basic principals of Islam are not Western friendly. However, after 9/11, modern Muslim scholars are trying to re-introduce those principals to make them more open minded and more friendly to non Muslims. I hope they can go even further.

not unless islam stops trying to tell people that the whole world is against them. they definately need to stopthe marches and burning of u.s and u.k flags in the streets whenever something bad happens to them. did any americans or british do that after 9/11 or 7/7 no. having said that there are people in the west who also need to change their attitudes towards muslims. the day this happens is the day the two groups are integrated.

How?... When in place of true God they both put hatred, pride, selfishness, greed, lies, wish to kill, envy, vengeance... Only children of both nations has little chance to live together, one by one, without foolish religions claiming for God support, without politicians lieing, without anticipation, without lack of understanding , without claims for others pay back. Islamic people are tought to hate whole western people not the ones evil. Western people are tought to hate whole Islamic people not the terrorists. Evil is earning power on your foolishness and God... God is prepering some decision I will not be able to deny. Not again... Not this time... Not when lastly only my heart survive darkness aim...

of course. its all a bit of a craze if u ask me. 30 years ago before the islamic reveloution in iran that country was just like america. they had human rights and you would only wear a veil if that was your choice. nowadays the girls are starting to take off their veils again and even sneak out to go clubbing. basically, its like a trend. we will all soon realise that we are supposed to live together in unity.

East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet.

I doubt it, but who ever makes an effort is an asset to society as far as I'm concerned.
