My son is 6 months old and my husband and I are trying to conceive again. Has anyone else ever went through this before, and if so, how long did it take you. We have sex about once a week, all we have time for.

Well, the reason that we both want another one soon is because we WANT them to be close in age. My son is already very used to being around other children, and I see how happy it makes him. It will be a lot of work, but my husband and I both feel it will be worth it in the long run. We really don't want them to be any more than 2 years apart because we want them to be able to play together. Some people may feel that this age gap is not enough, but I've seen how close siblings can be when they are almost the same age. My aunts were only 11 months apart and were very close as children and are very close as adults. My son gets a lot of attention, but he is very social and we want him to have someone to play with.

Every woman is different. Some women get pregnant right away. One thing that can interfere is breastfeeding, which can cause you to not have your period for several months. I breastfed my daughter and didn't have a period for 5 months, and for the first year it was very irregular. We started ttc again when she was a year old. It took us 8 months to conceive again. It was less than the 9 months it took to conceive our daughter, but only by 1 month. Therefore, I don't believe the old myth that once you have a baby it's easier to conceive the second time around. Your cycles might still be off right now because of your pregnancy. When you do get your period, try having sex every other day from days 10 - 20 of your cycle. If that's too difficult, buy and ovulation predictor kit and just have sex on your fertile days. Good luck!

I got pregnant when my son was about 5 months old. My sons are 14 months apart. My grandmother has 8 children several of them are less than a year apart. It just depends on the people involved, I guess.

Hi there :)
I don't know if you are breast feeding your son which for sure has an influence on being able to get pregnant one more time.
I also heard that it is good for your body to make at least 9 months break ... pregnancy overload woman's body so it needs to have a certain period of time to recover.
Remember that you invest in your baby future as well as yourself.

Not to tell you what to do, but don't you think that's a bit soon? If you get pregnant again right away, you'll have two very young children, still in diapers - and that's not even counting the possibility of twins, triplets etc. Besides, maybe it would be a good idea for you to concentrate on the baby you just had instead of trying to have another one right away - what's the rush?

You can get pregnant immediately. My girls are 10 months apart if that tells you anything. Keep trying, your homones are still adjusting, maybe you aren't doing it at the right time either, if could be several different things. Good luck!

Well my cousin's friend her mom just had her sister and went back to the doctor at 6 weeks and told her she was pregnant again. So you could try that after you have your next baby. Just e-mail me sometime and mabe we could get together.
