They usually cut out all of the good parts, at least the ones the readers like the most. Then they change events around to make it more interesting to an audience in theaters. Basically Hollywood butchers good books.

well what i know is when a movie is based on a popular book or even a normal book the Author takes money because she is the one who wrote the book and she has the right to choose with the director the actors and actresses and she might not agree with some scenes and they have to delete the parts she doesnt like ..JK Rowling for example the Author of Harry Potter takes money on every book of harry potter they film and they told the director that all actors on the movie should be English and if you noticed all of them are English

The book is hands down always better, I read The Bourne Identity before seeing the movie, and the movie was a joke, they didn't even include the main antagonist. My advice read the book before you watch any movie.

Are you asking about the process? Usually the author will prepare a shorter manuscript and then try to sell it to different production companies. This website will really help you, it has the whole process listed.

the book is destroyed. no question. the notebook, walk to remember, hary potter, to kill a mockingbird, ella encahnted, just to name a few. it kills me when they do this. books should stayy books, and movie producers could stand to come up wiht their own origioanl ideas, for once!
