So, it's my husbands and my 3 yr anniversay next weekend. My mother in law is going to take our daughter for the night this Sat night so we could go out.

We are going to go out for dinner just the 2 of us and then we were gonna go out somewhere after (thinking about going to Yuk Yuk's). My husband and I don't go out often because of the baby and we spend alot of time alone...evenings and pretty much every weekend. I was thinking about inviting another couple to join us (close friends of ours) because I think the more the merrier :) I've been on maternity leave so I don't even get to socialize with people at work anymore...

If we could afford it, we would go away for the night to TO or Niagra Falls or something but at this time, we simply can't.

Is it wrong of me to want other people to join us?

No, it's not wrong, it's your anniversary, celebrate it any way you want.

Having said that, you might want to reconsider. Having a new baby in the house you might want to take advantage of your mom in laws babysitting and spend the time reconnecting with your husband. You can have the other couple over to your house any time, and have the baby be asleep in her room, but those nights where grandma's willing to babysit are rare indeed, and you need to take advantage of them! I'd plan a very romantic night with just the 2 of you. Happy anniversary!

It's not a question of right and wrong, it's all about what the both of you want and if your husband wants to spend alone time just with you, then do that. I think the best way to approach it is just to say that you feel like having this night out with the other couple because you thing it's fun, but if he doesn't feel like it, it's not a big deal.

No, I thnk its OK. There is going to be lots of people at Yuk-Yuks anyway right? Unfortunately most will be drinking and you can't. You have to decide if that is an issue for you. You don't need a hotel because the house will be empty when you get back anyway.

Not wrong, but not unfair of your husband to object either.

Go to Medievel Times, or the Prince of Wales theatre, or just spend the night in the Royal York or something.

Or go see Mel Lastman at Bad Boy.

Who's Badder then Bad Boy?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobody!

p.s. It's "Niagara".

Don't ask us, ask your husband! And be very careful, for if you invite another couple without a prior arrangement that it is 'dutch,' they will expect you to pick up the tab. If you cannot afford to get away for an evening, you can't afford to pay for another couples food and drinks. Ask your husband what he would prefer. Good luck

Typically a couple usually share their anniversary alone. It seems to me that inviting another couple some other time would be appropriate. If your husband is OK with the idea, I suppose it would be OK. I know I just like to celebrate our anniversary with each other only.

I think you two should go out by yourselves.

Ask your babysitter to watch the kid another night and have a couples night out then.

It is more fun when another couple comes along. We go out with other couples because there is nothing new to say to the wife.

It's fine if it's okay with your husband. Ask him first.
