i have roses that i want to keep. i just got them yesterday but when they die i want to be able to keep them and put them either in a box or keep them out when they are all dried up. I want them to look as good as possible. I heard that spraying them with hairspray helps, but the last time i did that it didnt work out so well. I was wondering if you have any tips on how to dry them to make them look as good as possible and wont be too dry so they will just fall apart.

You can dry flowers in a box with an inch-thick layer of fine sand. Simply fill a shoe box or other small container with the cleanest, finest sand you can find, place your flowers inside, and then sprinkle more sand over the flowers until they are completely covered. Leave them in a closet or cupboard for two to four weeks. The sand will draw out moisture in this time. Good luck:)

They are better to preserve when they are still alive and looking good. Gather them together tieing a string around the bottom of the stems to keep them toghether. Then hang upside down in a cool dry room, like a closet.

I hang my roses upside down to dry them. But hang them up before they get too wilted. When they are dry put just a light dusting of hairspray on them...don't saturated them! If you put too much they will turn brown. Hope that helps! P.S. You look like me...lol.

I usually hang my roses upside down in my closet. It seems to dry them out and they stay in tact pretty well. Just tie a string around the stem and hang it from the closet rack. Just make sure that your clothes aren't touching it.
