This is point 4000 for me, and I am glad it is on something that I believe strongly in. I am a straight male, and I think gays being allowed to marry is one of the major issues in America today. I think that religion should be part of no laws. I that what two people do to each other should affect not another person, and that other person should affect no laws molesting those two people.
Gay people should marry, gay people should raise children, if there is anything that straight people have a right to do, gay people have an right to do it as well. Anything less then across the board equality is a slander against what so many have fought for.

Where is marriage a right? The Constitution says nothing specific about marriage.
Why does anyone need the gvmt to give them permission to marry? Does gvmt 'blessing' make you more married than the next person?
People should have the ability to form a union with whom they choose. The gvmt should get out of the marriage business.
Marriage is a personal thing, not a political one.

Of course I agree that the STATE, which gives and administers marriage rights like adoption, inheritance and taxation, should stop discriminating against its citizens on the basis of gender/sexual orientation.
Religion should have no say in who gets STATE-given rights. All should be equal, according to the Constitution as amended.
And you didn't ask, but I'll say that I'm fine with calling same-gender marriages "civil unions" as long as you call EVERY SINGLE different-gender marriages the same thing. When you give the same rights, you must call it the same thing, or we are back in a status of discrimination and/or "Separate but Equal."

I'm all for gay marriage in the US.
And anyone who isn't is simply anti-American.
This country is governed by the Constitution, not the Bible.

I dont approve personally but I feel that homosexuals should be able to be as happy/unhappy as (married)heterosexuals. Also if it was allowed I think that then many people wouldn't feel the need to hide there sexuality and we wouldn't have the whole "down low" AIDS phenomina, of homsexual and bisexuals giving STD's to their spouses.
So let them get married.
