there were three neighborhood kids who knocked on my door today and asked to shovel snow for ten dollars. they shovled all of my property, i have a cornerhouse, including my driveway. they were outside for more than 30 minutes. my mom called later and she was like WHAT??? and i thought it was a reasonable amount of money....

If you gave them $10 each, you did great. If it took three kids 30 minutes to shovel, then it must have been a lot of work because it would have taken one kid an hour and half just by himself! They worked hard to earn that money.

Tell your mom to lighten up those kids busted their hump out there, shoveling snow is very hard work, did it myself when i was a kid 40 yrs ago, if she still has doubts she should watch those kids for thirty min one snowy day and i will bet she 's out of breath just watching. besides this is how these fine young men earn some extra $$$ so as not to be asking MOM for spare cash. remind your mom that these boy's learned other valuable lesson that fine day in the snow= teamwork, leadership, loyalty, good work ethics, and pride for a job well done, so in answer to your question yes you did well, except for offering a seat on the stoop and a cup of coco at jobs end.

I would have given them 30 bucks each for shoveling your property and spending that much time in the snow. I sure hope you gave them more money after that cuz if my kid came home sick from shoveling snow for someone i would think that the person was a cheap skate and i would tell my kids not to go to you again for anything.

they should get paid about ten dollars an hour--if they're young..5 and hour would be good.since there were three kids, tell them to split the twenty =)
