since they love guns and killing they can at least get to kill a few iraqis for us, and if they don't the iraqis can help execute them for their crimes. Win, win in my opinion. Don't worry they won't flee from iraq.

Criminals? How do we define criminals, is not criminals those who kill regardless how they do it?In a war of freedom for or to defend our country I very much would let out the prisoners and let them fight , but under the circumstances ,Iraq this question is in poor taste, the international community would reall go up against us , but in a war to the teeth ,that will be here sooner than we can expect, in this sort of war for our survival Iam for opening the prisons and letting the prisoners join in the struggle as American citezens they are entitled to defend their nation ,capish?

First of all, above and beyond the basic human rights issues that would be violated in conscripting prisoners as soldiers to possibly die (and since we scoff at the Romans for using prisoners as gladiators for mass-entertainment, we might want to be careful what we do), do you really want to give them weapons and a major escape oppurtunity?

we would be the one paying for their training and weapons through taxes if they went overseas. it would probably be more expensive and they're right, there is enough crime and stuff in Iraq. what would you do if they turned on us and shot one of our soldiers?
