There is a better way and easy too.
1. download iTunes
2. Conect your ipod USB to the Pc
3. Use the iTunes to convert any music you want by importing the music you want.
you will find a word called Import then the music will be in the iTunes then take the ipod USB cable out of the Pc then Put it agian so the songs can be imported. Also it tells you how many space you have and you can rename your ipod in the iTunes .

If you know how to do it on a regular ipod, do it the same way. If not plug the ipod shuffle into your computer and click itunes(don't have itunes? http:/apple.com/ and its free!). Click on your ipod icon in the sources list and click Music once you are in the ipod icon. Press sync music from where you want it from(playlist, top 25 most played, all, etc.). Press apply. Wa La!! (to make sure it syncing, it'll say syncing blahblahblah up in the top) Good Luck!
