Mine was the Ramones. I tought myself guitar because of them. I think if you ask many musicians they will tell you that The Ramones were a huge influence.

I like The Ramones a lot myself, wore my Ramones t-shirt to work today, as a matter of fact, not that that has anything to do with your question. From what I've heard from the Ramones, they were trying to sound like the Beach Boys, and from what I've heard of the Beach Boys, they were trying to sound like Chuck Berry, although neither of those were really very influential during the last 35 years. I think a lot of people would agree, whether they like them or not, that Nirvana changed everything, even though they borrowed a lot of ideas from The Pixies, who borrowed a lot of ideas from The Ramones. So basically I think it's The Ramones too. I guess I could have just said, "yeah."

Zeppelin did have a huge impact on music, also the Ramones, Cars, and The Police. Although I would have to go with Van Halen as the best. Eddie changed the way to play a guitar. And they did have some of the best videos around.

I would have to say that for me, there is a tie between Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.

They each have their unique sounds and were the first ones of their genre. At that time, there was nobody ever like them and quite franky, there will never be anybody like them.

Pink Floyd's music is really one of a kind and you can't deny the genious behind it, if you are a true classic rock fan.

I do have great respect for the Ramones.

I don't like them much but I would have to say KISS

There are a lot of guitarists out there who were inspired to learn to play after hearing Ace F. He could be flashy but mostly stayed to rock. Funny thing is, most of the players he inspired are so much better than he is.
