Mardi Gras is not over until Ash Wednesday. And that will be on Feb. 21, 2007. But you could give up trying to read a calendar. You are not too good at it.

Not much will happen, except that you will not appreciate the meaning of Lent, and Easter when it comes.
If you don't want to give up anything, a good alternative is to do something extra without any special payment - like, is there an extra chore you can do without being asked, every day? I use to pick "making my bed."
Sometimes it takes contrast for us to really appreciate things that are really good/fun.

sweetheart, mardi gras is not over... and you don't have to give up anything for lent... my brother gives up spinach every year because he doesn't like it.
