My Chevy has been OK but I'm tired of supporting the health care of the UAW worker. ( They pay nothing while I pay 15% of my paycheck) I want to hit them where it hurts.

The reality is there is almost no such thing as a domestic car these days. Ford and GM have decimated communities in America by closing down factories and outsourcing to Canada and Mexico. In fact if you purchase a vehicle produced by Ford or GM you are actually giving them the okay to continue to exploit Americans, while giving away our jobs.

I drove a Nissan for a long time, it was built in Tennessee and was a great car for 68,000. I recently got an Acura. But I am pleased to support foreign brands that are opening plants in America. American brands would do well to follow the lead of the foreign manufacturers.

Yes there are more foreign cars in the US then American, And your right, Ford currently pays 570 bucks from every car to RETIRED workers health care and benefits that doesn't include the 40k per current employee for benefits. I hate to say it but the workers have done it to them selves, they complain about how little they are paid and how "bad" the job is. When they are really far over paid. Its sad, but true that we need to start realizing that its a flat world and we have to expect to be paid about what they can pay someone else where to do the same job. Hope this helps but don't feel bad that American car companies have built up so much bureaucracy that they cant change for the times. And don't feel bad about the labor of it, all major foreign car manufactures assemble there cars at least some models in the US. Even Ford assembles many cars in Mexico and Canada. So its six of one half dozen of the other.

All cars are made of parts from other countries, or assembled elsewhere. Hundai, Nissan', Toyota's, Mecedes, and BMW's are assembled in US with parts from US suppliers and foreign suppliers, GM's are assembled in Canada and Mexico from US and foreign parts. It's a global world.

I have been driving Foriegn cars since the 1960's. I currently own a 2006 Mercedes Roadster and a Ford F350 truck. If a foriegn manufacturer could make a truck that hauled 20,000 lbs I would get one.

Chevrolet is a foreign car. They make them in Canada and Mexico. You must mean a Honda...oh wait, they make that in Ohio. How about a VW? They are made in Mexico.
