I am on Mirecette, which is a low dose hormone birth control. Well, my inactive pills are not until next week, however I started my period today. Is this a bad thing or is it normal?

When you first start taking birth control, it can take a few months to even out. Your body is still adjusting to the new levels of hormones. Even though Mircette provides a low-dose hormone, your body will still take a little time to regulate itself. If this continues to be a problem over the next 2-3 months, I suggest you contact your gynecologist. If you are very nervous about this, you could call now but they will most likely say the same thing. However, if you don't regulate to the birth control, your gynecologist will most likely have to put you on a different brand with a different level of hormones. This problem is actually quite common by the way, it happens to most women when they start taking birth control, but eventually, it evens out and corresponds to the inactive pills after a few cycles.

If you just started taking it then this is normal. It takes some women a few months to get use to the pills especially if you did not start taking them at the right time of month. But if you have been on awhile or this continues to happen it could be a problem and you should contact your doctor.

that sounds strange. normally, your body (on the birthcontrol) will not allow you to have a period until that drug is out of your system.

you need to call your doctor and see what s/he says
