My son is doing a science project on crystals, we need to find out how many different kinds/types of crystals there are. At least how many have been identified. I have tried looking this information up in the library, as well as the internet (maybe I am not wording right when I search) Any help would be appreciated.

The name is given in the picture, it's an agate. Agate is a variety of chalcedony, it's basically quartz. Jasper can have a similar appearance, but again, it's basically quartz. I'm probably going to get in trouble for this, but there is no scientific evidence of the metaphysical properties of these crystals. Especially since many gems stones are the same mineral
