I want peace, love and harmony and I'm a tree hugger who wants to fight global warming, doesn't eat beef, and advocates ethical treatment of animals. I respect all ethnicities and religions and believe we should focus on cultures'/religions' similarities- not our differences.

However- I'm also against tolerance of violent crime (much tougher on crime without resorting to death penalty which I don't think is the answer), out-of-wedlock sex, abortion, and for freedom of religion. I worry about decay of the family and think that stronger nuclear families need to be reinforced.

I think libs don't have a sense of right and wrong, but cons are hypocrites and their actions speak the opposite of their words. In other words, one party sucks, the other blows.

How would you go about enforcing your prohibition of out of wedlock sex? One way NOT to have peace is pushing your morals onto other people.

I'd say you are a work in progress...

Keep an open mind, get the facts and think about the practical application of your positions.

Right now you are probably more conservative than you realize. That's because even if you disagree with the most extreme conservative views regarding global warming and the environment, your other views are mainstream red-state America.

Vegetarianism and animal rights advocacy are more personal preferences than political policy.

But support of stronger criminal penalties, protecting the unborn, preservation of family values and a strong moral compass are bedrock conservative positions. And these are all "tipping point" positions that have a huge impact on how our American culture evolves. Global warming and animal rights are not small issues, but they do not have nearly as great a potential for immediate impact on our everyday lives.

So read, listen, think and grow. And don't be afraid to have a mix of competing views. It's a far more engaging attitude than some sound bite-spouting zealot who can't think for themselves!

Conservatives want peace, but know that the only way to get it is by winning it.

Global Warming is a farce. This is a lack of education issue. 20 years ago we were having Global Cooling. Then it was man made warming, now it is climate change.

We have to have had some level of Earth warming to get out of the Ice Ages we have had.

Conservatives have no problem with ethical treatment of animals. Blowing up research labs is wrong. Giving animals more rights than humans is wrong.

How are conservatives hypocrites?

I think that making blanket statements like libs have no sense of right and wrong and cons are hypocrites is a mistake. Why do have to label yourself or others?

Your views on these issues are shared by many conservatives and by many liberals. No one is for violent crime (vs alternatives to the death penalty like life without parole) or abortion (vs right to choose).

Yeah! Somebody's FINALLY listening. I've been advocating all those same things for YEARS!

But, don't worry about fitting into some category. You are YOU, and that's all you need to be. People can't effectively be categorized or pigeonholed.

It depends which is more important to you.

You're talking about most conservative politicians, they don't do what they say because they are weak against the whiney, always complaining liberals. Most of your conservative citizens try to do what they say and think for themselves as to what is right or wrong. The libs just don't care if it's wrong, they have so much hatred in their hearts for conservatives. They just call us hypocrites, nazis, neocons, you name it. I think they are truly blind of the destruction that the democratic party mainly because of their hatred in their heart. I hate political correctness deep down to my soul and the dems embrace it as freedom of this and that. They misconstrue our laws, constitution or whatever just to fit their agenda and when we speak up, they try to silence us. Most democrats say they won the election because of Iraq. Myself and all of my conservative friends and family all feel that the republicans lost because they won't stand up for what conservatives believe in. Our democrat and republican politicians remind me of bad kids and bad parents. The dems (child) cries and throws tantrums and the conservatives (parents) would give in and let them have what they want. Instead of standing their ground for what we believe in.

As far as tree hugger, just as long as you are just as adamant about abortion. That is one thing I don't get about PETA. They fight and fight for animal's rights, but not an innocent human beings life.

Perhaps you are the rare Individual. I vote for whoever is closest to my view (what other choice do I have) but I refuse to be identified by my vote.

Read some Ayn Rand. I think you will enjoy it. (Atlas Shrugged)
