When I lived in the Middle East, I tried to get my husband to take a second wife... I really wanted to find a wife that wouldn't mind cooking and cleaning for him and so on... then I wouldn't have to do it... (yes, I was being very selfish)...
;)
My husband didn't want one. But I searched anyways... my friends told me to just get a live-in maid.
But I knew some second wives and they were very happy to be one. Some even were close with the first wife and they helped each other out.
Oh well...
However, I have also been approached about this. The man was awesome, a real gentleman, very nice and very, very handsome. His first marriage was good he told me, but arranged by his parents.
I would have considered it if I wasn't already married. Afterall, its not like the marriage counts in the US, it would just be legal in the country I was staying, and the surrounding countries. Or, I could have made it a temporary marriage under contract, and had the marriage automatically terminated after two years or whatever.
As for the western world, I don't think multiple wives would work here. Most men here can't handle the one wife they have, much less have to deal with two or more... Plus, the culture here frowns on such things. Where in Islam, it is acceptable, in Christianity, it's not.
Best Wishes....
T.

Great idea, and if your man sucks in bed, while he's out doing his concubine, the wife can go out and get some manwhore concubine for her to make up for her crappy husband .
