If you have comcast internet (maybe even if you don't - not sure) there's www.fearnet.com for free horror movies. Vongo.com is pretty cheap... like $24.99 a month, unlimited downloads, I think (Windows only).
For the pirate, I think limewire.com, morpheus.com and kazaa.com still have stuff. I don't use them (haven't in about 5 years) so uncertain how the p2p world is anymore.
