My son's name was spelled wrong when we received his birth certificate in the mail! Who ever typed it up put an apostrophe in a weird place so it looked like we named him some crazy ghetto name.
You need to go to your local office of Vital Statistics. Or whatever the name of the office that issues birth certificates, death certificates, marriage licences, etc.... They'll change it there.

You need to contact your local registrar office and they will advise. Look on yell.com and find out where your local is. I am sure it can easily be fixed once you speak to the right person.
