Here's a link to Dr. Phil's Potty train in one day: http://drphil.com/articles/article/264/

**note: the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests waiting until the child is 2 years old to begin potty training.

18 months is way too young! It's a struggle at three years; it will be brutal for you both at 18 months! I can't remember the site, but I googled "spongebob underpants for boys" and found a site that's all about potty training. You could do the same.

your child is young, but it can be done. first of all is your child emotionally or physically ready?can he/she pull up and down his pants? no belts, buckles or snaps for now. is her aware of when he is wet or soiled? does he understand what the potty seat is for? if you answered yes to these questions,go for it. the average age though is girls 3 boys 3 1/2 my oldest was 18 mon. she was interested and my husband noticed she pooped at the same time every day. he gave her a sippy cup of milk, sat her on her seat and read to her. she pooped and was so impressed with herself she wanted to do it some more. we rewarded her with one m&m each time she sat on the potty.i would suggest if your child is a boy,u train him sitting, not standing because it can be tramautic if he poops while he is trying to pee standing up. give your child time... even if he sits on the potty seat with a diaper on it is a good association for him. i would also suggest a potty seat that goes on the floor instead of on the toilet seat.good luck!

That is not true- 18 months is not too young, if your little one is ready! You know they are ready when they start complaining a lot that they filled their diaper and they let you know that they are uncomfortable in a dirty diaper. Go to babycenter.com, this is such a good website and will give you good tips on how to get started, but remember, your child will tell you when he/she is ready, just be a good listener and have lots of patience!
