when i lift a lot of weight, i dont feel the stress on my muscles like when I lift lighter weight. I bench 120 max (not much), but when I bench a lot of weight i dont get off the bench with swollen muscles like when I lift something i can do 8-10 reps with. why is that?

try (heavist weight you can do) X 5x5

see if that will work

You are not tearing down and burning out the muscle like with the multiple reps. It is working though.

You lift more when you lift something light making your work out more effective.
