how can i lower the cost of my monthly birth control (Loestrin 24 FE)?

I just got started on Loestrin 24 FE, and since I have no prescription drug plan I'm having to pay the $60+ out of pocket. Is there a less expensive source for this drug than American pharmacies?

I don´t have an experience with this bc pill, but you have to wait at least three months for your body to get used to the new hormonal charge, this means she may have some irregularitis in her periods till she gets used to it, and maybe some disorders she didn´t have before to; cause the pill makes your body tricked that it´s pregnant, so you may notice some changes, that should fade within 3 months or she can change pill with her doctors prescription. I found this: How should I take my Loestrin 24 Fe? • Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. • When you start a new birth control pack, take the first pill on the first Sunday after your period begins (unless your doctor tells you otherwise). • Take one pill every day, no more than 24 hours after your last dose. Try to take the pills at the same time every day--for example, just before bed, with a meal, or first thing in the morning. • Taking your pill at night may help to reduce any nausea or headache the hormones may cause. • The 28-day birth control pack contains seven pills that are either iron tablets or placebos (also called sugar pills). The 24-day pack contains four iron pills. These are "reminder" pills to keep you on your regular cycle. Your period will usually begin while you are using these reminder pills. • If you are using a 28-day or 24-day birth control pack, take one pill every day. When the pack runs out, throw it away. Well maybe you qualify to go to Planned Parenthood and get a steep discount. I would check out your options there. I had to pay quite a bit for the same medication and I just decided to stop taking it...Guess what? I'm saving 60+ dollars a month. Or try the old fashioned way and just use condoms and spermicides or have your man pull out! Hope that helps!

I am on the same pill and this is a concern for me also. Try Sam's Club. They told me Loestrin 24 would be $47.72 without insurance. Also try a website called birthcontrolcard.com. It's a free discount program.

But if you must...prescription drugs are less expensive in Canada. Try the site below. You could also search the web and find other sites (like I did) but this one seemed to be the cheapest.

Don't take it. Use the natural family planning method instead. All you have to do is buy a thermometer! Plus it's more natural!!
