Im giving my computer to my DTR and would like to uninstall things on it that dont pertain to her. I know about add/remove programs and such. But like i have Outlook express, is it as simple as just deleting my address book and all the folders etc?? Id like the computer to be fresh for her without all my personal info and things i downloaded. what all else is there or can i do to clean the slate on my computer??

that should be fine, unless she's a computer wiz and is trying to find your info, cause theres usually a trace hidden pretty deep down in your comp that most people cant find

Go with rchilly2000. But there are plenty of data recovery tools like Easy Recovery, GetBackDataForNTFS which can recover data even from reformatted hard drives.

You see, when you format your hard drive, all the data just remains on your disk. Only it's references are removed. So don't count on anything. I mean, if you can, keep this hard disk to yourself and get a new one for her.

you can reformat your computer and just start over. this will get rid of everything. then you can reinstall windows and any other software you want her to have.
