Dallas Morning News reported yesterday that TO demanded Jerry Jones bring in former Florida Gator QB Danny Wuerrfel for competition at the QB position.. TO was enamored with Wuerrfel's performance during his Heisman season in 1997 and thinks it can transpire on the field next year as well.. I think Wuerrfel is a superior talent who should be in the league on any team.. He did after all win the Heisman tropy.. What do you guys think??

Have you seen Wuerrfel play? Not a lot of competition.

He won the Heisman, and look where that has landed him? Look where it has landed Eric Crouch, Jason White, and Ron Dayne in recent years. The Heisman means nothing once you reach the NFL level. All it'll do is collect dust on a shelf somewhere in their homes.

He has had a couple of stints in the NFL in the past. He did not last long in New Orleans, and was one of the blundered moves that ultimately led to the resignation of Steve Spurrier in Washington.

Tony Romo has his job secured. Big Ben in Pittsburgh started falling apart toward the end of his first season, and won the Super Bowl the next. Tony Romo is an awesome quarterback that can scramble yet does not overdo it like a Michael Vick. He will last for a long time, and will help elevate that team to a level closer to the Aikman, Smith, and Irvin level they have been in a while.

They just need to retool the secondary a little, and drop Terrell Owens for a less egomaniac receiver with hands.

I think thats ridiculous, there are numerous quarterback heisman winners who could'nt hack it in the NFL, 7 of the last 11 to be exact with two yet to prove themselves Troy Smith and Matt Leinart who is showing good signs, just cause they won it doesnt mean they will do well in the NFL. He had his chance and had no shine what so ever even if he was on a bad team there was nothing great, I could be wrong and if he goes to Dallas I hope I am, but I think he would be cut or a 3rd string QB.

Danny Wuerfful?! (hahaha) How do you make this stuff up?

How about TO asking Jones to bring in Andre Ware or Ty Detmer. Both are just as bad and also won a Heisman.

I dont know why everyone is taking this tool seriously.

FYI people: Danny Weurffel retired 5 years ago. HELLO?!??
AND he won the Heisman in 1996, not 1997.

Every question posted by this guy is bullshiiiit. Pay it no mind.

1997 Heisman... that was 10 years ago. You know who else won the heisman? Maybe they should grab Gino Torretta, he won the Heisman.

I thought the Cowboys were going to draft Troy Smith instead? He just won the Heisman and I think T.O. favors Ohio State to Florida. Didn't you know that T.O. had money on that game, lost 5 grand and is really upset with Florida for winning.

No Romo will be the QB. He did lead the team to the play offs and did play in the pro bowl and you could say last year he was a rookie QB and had bumps along the way.Ramo will start.

Romo is a pretty active quarterback who's just asking to get hurt. With any luck the Panthers(who are notorious for forcing organ removal) will put him on his *** next season and Wuerrfel will have a shot in the starting position. Just my opinion.

Wuerfel is a has-been who never was. Anything he's gonna do he would have done it by now. And the next time TO tells Dallas "Show me the money",show him the door instead.
