One is a Master of Arts and the other a Master of Science. Clinically, there is not too much of a difference. You can still become a certified SLP with either degree. However, I think the MS is more science based - you will probably have to do a thesis and more research based work. An MA is probably more theory and clinical based.

If you are accepted to grad school, try to get a Teaching Assistantship or Research Assistantship. These positions usually carry with them full tuition waivers and a stipend, which is enough to get by without loans. Don't take 60,000 more out in student loans. You won't be happy when you are finished. If you don't get accepted without funding, take a year off and work. Then, you can research programs that will fund you and you then you can reapply. Massive student loan debt can have a VERY negative impact on your life when you start working at your chosen career.

Best answer above. For my MS degree I had to take courses in Neuroanatomy and complete a Master's project/ thesis.
