honey i feel ya with my first i was dilated to 2 most the time (i also have incompitant cervix)i was on bed rest 2 months in the hospital and had my son 10 weeks early, now i am pregnant again 19 weeks and i had a stitch put in my cervix to help me not go into labor early.
it makes me wonder did they know before that you have an incompitant cervix and did they offer you the cerclage (stitch). i wonder why they are just letting you go even at 30 weeks my son was still in the NICU for three months, even if they could get you to 32 or 33 weeks it is better, not great but better, they tried with me and i didnt make it, i am sure they could do more for you. i would ask them how serious this is for you, get answers and dont stop asking questions unitl you do
good luck i hope all is well.

For my oldest 35 weeks and delivered her at 37.5 weeks. With my youngest I was delivered at 33.3 weeks via c-section, due to pre-eclampsia and VERY low amniotic fluid. But at 30 weeks, I did start having some contractions, was put into the hospital and thankfully the contractions were stopped. At that point I was a fingertip dilated.
Being that you have a history of an incompetent cervix, AND being that your dilated and effaced, I hate to say this, but I would be suprised if you go full term. Good news, my baby girl was born at 33.3 weeks, weighed 3lbs. and 7.4oz., I was given the steriods for her lungs before the birth. She has NEVER had to be on any sort of respitory help, thankfully. She spent three weeks, only because her muscle tone was low, but this was due to her low fluid levels. No fluid, no workouts in utero, no muscle tone. Good luck and best wishes and Congrats!
P.S.- E-mail me if you need someone to talk to about this.

I think before 28 weeks is the worst, but 29 weeks isn't good. The baby does best when s/he has as much time inside you as s/he can get. That said, neonatalogy is at such a point these days, that I've heard of babies being born at 22 weeks, surviving, and doing just fine at 10 years old. I know it's hard not to worry, though. Good luck!
