If Ken Livingstone is so worried about global warming, why do so many spotlights shine on buildings in London?

in the same week we were urged to turn off unnecessary lights, the powers-that-be decided to light up Buckingham Palace all night with huge energy-guzzling lamps! There are so many public buildings that are lit up at night, throughout the night ... and yet our mayor Ken Livingstone (who, by the way, I have alone in the back of an 8-seater limousine ... so much for his attacks on car-drivers!) ... where was I? Oh yes, why does Red Ken ask us to switch off lights, and then give the go-ahead for huge public lights all night?
