I am so completely horrified that Karla Homolka (if you don't know who she is......google her) has just had a child. I don't believe she has been or ever will be rehabilitated.

Please spare me the "she found God" BS.

Is there even a remote possibility that she is able to be a mother?

Just to clarify.....by mother I mean someone who genuinely loves, not someone who gives birth.

Sociopaths will only learn to mimic true emotions, and they will be masters of it. If you are really interested in sociopaths get the book The Sociopath Next Door, I think you will find it very interesting and informative.

Aye. Creepy. a genuine sociopath can not be reversed. on no account. actually, it is like there's a hollow the place their experience of right and incorrect would desire to be. they do no longer sympathize or sense emotions. i'm able to get into the whole psychological element of it, yet there is in simple terms lots to declare. answer- No, that's impossible to opposite a sociopath, till executed so via an act of God.

Sometimes, the innocence and unconditional love of a child can do strange things...sometimes....so I think that it is possible...
I'm not sure that this would apply to her, though. It would depend if she is taking care of herself and her recovery (therapy, meds, conducive environment, etc), plus the desire to do so.
People who do not have the diagnosis of sociopath have proven to be bad parents on a daily basis- hence the development of CPS...empathy is also so mechanical- it is what professionals are taught to keep their emotions at a distance. So technically, empathy is more probable than sympathy, the raw emotion that one would have for their child.

NO a sociopath cannot be taught empathy. In fact, therapy makes them even worse because they learn about human emotions and are better able to mimick them and use them as an act to manipulate.

anyone can be a mother, now can everyone be a good mother...certainly NOT. Someone like her will never change, hopefully someone else will raise the child.

If she is what you are calling a "True" sociopath it is pathological and I say No, she Can't love Anyone but Herself if you can even call THAT love!! She feels justified in her every mood and act and her only remedy is medication but they usually won't stay on it!! @8-) And that's the Truth!!

Oh no!!! She is a very sick and troubled women. I can't believe she just had a baby. I can't imagine someone being ok enough with everything to have a relationship with her. Maybe it was a one night stand? Rehabilitated? It depends on the crime. I never say never, but.........

Sociopaths are born, not made. They can't be taught to empathasize, but they sure can fake it.

By definition, she cannot be taught to emphathize.
If she can, she is not a sociopath.

She can be taught to IMMITATE empathy.
Indeed, most sociopaths know how they are
expected to behave - they just choose for
their own reasons not to.
