Warmer temperatures means MORE fertile lands not fewer.
More people die of cold related deaths than heat related deaths.
No one has ever died by water rising at a rate of 8 inches per 100 years.
CO2 is NOT a harmful gas to humans
CO2 is NOT destroying the atmosphere

Where are these negative effects coming from? If anything we should be burning MORE fossil fuels.

6.4 inches and the entire planet dies? Please go to the beach and tell me how much life would die if the water rose there 6.4 inches over 100 years? My guess is it would be a few plants.

Pip you're making the assumption that the status quo is the best possible thing for the earth. I would point to periods the earth was far warmer than it is now that saw much more vegitation over the earth as a whole. If bread baskets disappear now, others will turn up at relatively the same time.

When you think about it. The fight to maintain the status quo of the Earth should be a conservative arguement by definition.

"Global Warming means not enough oxygen for living things to breathe, like PLANTS and HUMANS"

I think this is my favorite response.

Because we're going to lose about 1/3 of Florida and all the coastline of every continent in the world.

The artic is actually ice and if we don't watch it it'll melt and then the animals there will have no land to live on. Carbon dioxide levels will go up making it hard for us to breathe. There will be an increase in tornadoes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters.
A theory is that we will warm up and then the Earth will naturally cool down causing another ice age. Then a hundred years later the Earth will return to the state it is right now. Also note that global warming doesn't exactly mean the Earth will get warmer. It will get colder (now who wants that?)

In my opinion however, global warming is a fast way for politicians to make money and is just a natural process for Earth to go through. If you've watched Al Gore's movie, he makes a lot of false accusations. They are published in the move "An Inconveinet Truth" Here there are:

1) Gore implies that the Aral Sea has been drying up due to global warming, but it's actually because the former Soviet Union diverted the rivers that once kept it full.

2) Gore says the ice caps on Mt. Kilimanjaro are disappearing due to global warming, but the British science journal Nature attributes this to the fact that humans have cut down forests, producing humidity around the volcano.

So fact or fiction? That's the question and it's your job to figure out the answer.

Warmer temperature = more fertile lands? have you ever heard of the desert?
This year in California, the winter was so unpredictable that a huge chunk of the avocado and citrus crop was destroyed - the warm winter caused fruit to grow early, and was not able to make it through the rest of the cold. In a normal winter, the crops would be waiting until the spring to grow.

CO2 IS harmful! It creates smog, and thickens the atmosphere, and cannot be breathed in.

More people die from cold? How many Somalians have died because they can't grow crops on their once fertile land?
But I suppose judging by your mentality you don't consider Africans to be humans, then maybe the 50,000 Europeans that died in 2003 from a heat wave?

I have yet to understand why so many (lemme guess- American?) people are so intent on fighting against science. What do you seriously have to gain by denial and ignorance?

CO2 not harmful to humans?

First off heating up of the earth is going to make ideal conditions for rodents and insects to carry virus that can be transferred to humans. example, the bird flu. Longer hotter summers in some of the parts of the country could lead to strokes and heat related deaths to elders and small children. The rising of the temperatures could also lead to worse air quality

Sudden rises in CO2 in the soil could kill off most of the vegetation still on earth.

And you're right it doesn't destroy the atmosphere it weakens it which causes harmful sun rays to penetrate it easier and put people at potential risk for skin cancer.

I'd hate to be the person 800 years from now who is living on top of trees and only transportation is by boat.

Well sir scientific studies shows that if the sun continues it's cycle, in 11 years the sun's radiance will be about double of its present temperature felt on the earth and in our solar system.

On an average summer day here in Iowa the temperature is in the 90s with humidity levels over 85%. So if you do the math you'll see my point. Of course global warming isn't what governments are saying and a global tax on it will affect the cycles of the sun in no way. Just another ploy to tax hard working folks.

LMFAO! Where do you get your information from? It means more desert land. It means more disease.

C02 has been proven by scientists (not Rush Limbaugh) to be the cause of GW.

8 inches is a global average. Some areas will ge greater, some less. Are you aware that at 6.4 inches, all life on the planet dies?

SHut off limbaugh, its not doing your credibility any good!

Global Warming means not enough oxygen for living things to breathe, like PLANTS and HUMANS. Think of global warming as the siran wrap you put over a container when you want to reheat something in the microwave. Everything is being "Steamed" taking the nutrients out of the product. Global warming is NOT good for the environment.

while I do agree that the natural cycle of the earth will adapt there would be much human death due to drought and sever weather during that time of adaptation.. our bread basket will turn to dust and our usable land shrink for many, many years.. the Sahara wasn't always a desert you know. not to mention the blow our seafood would take.. it would take a melinia for that to rebound.

I'm not arguing for no change, I'm arguing for natural change.. when 60% of the CO2 being produced annually is due to humans then GW is no longer a natural cycle.

Smart man. Global Warming is a hoax to scare people into more control and to pay a rediculous carbon tax. They say it causes skin cancer. No, staying out in the sun all day for 30yrs does that, you dolts.
The center of the sun is producing more and more heat. Scientifically proven and not by the ones who say there is global warming either. The polar ice caps on Mars are melting, does that do anything for ya.
