my ex left 8yrs ago,after 4yrs she filed for divorce I was happy with that,left her to go an do it,yipee happy days are here again lol, but never bothered about it till now,but in a recent conversation the subject came up,I never recieved any paperwork saying I was divorced,so am I or am i not?

You should be, but you can go to the court the divorce was filed at and request papers

well a similar situation happened to an uncle of mine. and he was worried about it and couldnt get into contact with the ex, having no idea what county she was in when she filed. so just to ensure you are, you should file for an absentee divorce (stating you have no idea where your ex is) and they are not too expensive. then you will be divorced and you will have a copy of the papers. (whether or not she filed, you will have your proof)

Nope, you should have had to go to court and sign papers or least get them in the mail. So, you're probelly not. After this long you need to go and do it because obviously she's not going to do it. My fiancee had his divorcee papers mailed to him from Germany and mine were from an American court so I know all countries follow the same principle.

check local court records or records in the state where she is seeing if a final order of dissolution or divorce was ever entered.

you might want to check with the clerk of court in the county where you were then.
