I find him really irritating on screen both in his telly programme and on the Sainsbury's ads - the chap looks like he needs a good wash and brush up. He looks too scruffy to be handling food - like he's just come in from sleeping on a park bench! Why can't TV chefs smarten themselves up, tuck away their hair, get a shave and generally look hygienic if they're preparing food.
Does Jamie Oliver put you off your food too!?

Re. Bob Geldof ... I'm sure he does grand work but couldn't he smarten himself up a bit. The man permanently looks like he's just been dragged through a hedge backwards .... teach him to use a comb, please!

Unfortunately, i think he is half right. I live on a housing association estate, and my children have grown and left home now, but there are many families with young children who live around me. During the school holidays just now i have been astounded by the amount of junk i have seen these kids consume. Coke, crisps, sweets, cones of chips, they just seem to constantly graze on rubbish. I asked the little girl next door to me what she had for tea, and bearing in mind she had chippy for lunch plus sweets all day, her reply, noodles and chips. So yes, though Jamie Oliver can be a condescending know all sometI'mes, im afraid he does have a point.

Jamie isn't the only one who looks as if he needs a scrub. Have you noticed how grubby TV chefs fingernails often are? Except that Ozzie chef who looks like Jason Donovan. Ainsley Harriet has a really annoying habit of patting the food. Another irritating habit a lot of Chefs have is slinging a T Towel over their shoulder near to their hair while they are cooking, and useing it to wipe their hands on.

So What? The man is a national hero, trying to save the kids of Britain from malnutrition from all the junk-food that is aimed at them by the big companies, just for profit,at the expense of the child's health. I don't care what he looks like, at least he makes a valuable contribution to society. Give him a knighthood. Do you want to slag off Geldof while you're at it?

Jamie's ok. There are worse sweaty looking chefs dripping their face grease into people's bolognaise sauce.

Johnathan s: I nearly gave you a thumbs up...until the Geldof bit. He truly is an arsehole.

I'm totally agree with you ~ he's obviously not so hygienic person! and he works as a cook -- famous chef? unbelievable!

I think they should set higher standards and the cooks must meet the requirements... sometimes my poor stomach will rebelled at the foods he's cooked ~ yuck!

P/S: Is he gay, pardon my French?
