i've heard that king Shajahan executed his main designer or rather the chief architecture of his masterpiece Taj Mahal.
so is this story true..or is it simply a legend..??
and if the story is true ..do you think what the king has done is correct for the sake of his love..??
once again no hurt feelings plz..i jst wanna knw the thruth..

Its a popular myth, in india also....they say that shah jahan did it so that the workers wont build any such wonderful building anywhere else...
my sis went to the taj mahal....during their honeymoon trip and asked the guards and workers there who are working in the taj mahal.
they are the future generations of the designer,workers who build the taj centuries ago. they are are still working there now.
They said its all thrash..they said why would we work here even after many centuries if our ancestors were executed...
the second question is tough one.......lol......I wouldnt do it

Taj Mahal has always been source of legends and mysticisms....unfortunately the act of building the monument was never documented anywhere so whatever details available in the public domain is a result of research carried out and hence subjected to the test of believability.......Same can be said about the ghastly act of killing the designer....if this legend can be believed....let me share another popular legend....according to one Mr Nag's book titled "Tajmahal: The true story' published during the indira gandhi government.....taj mahal was actually tejo mahalaya an ancient shiva temple which was modified by shah jahan.....he provides many evidences including the non opening of various internal chambers of taj mahal to support his case....
The truth of this and many other legends surrounding the taj sadly will never be known....

Shahahan was a Rular and he loves too much to Mumtaz ,for her he made TaJ Mahal .
Yes He Executed the designer.Because he didnot want built some one else like this.
At that time this kind of things happen.
In Ladakh there is also nine stroy building built by some famous designer. the king also kill the designer.

Yeah that's true. He did that so to eliminate all possibilities of another masterpiece by the same person. Shahjahan wanted the Taj Mahal to be the best that could ever be...

I heard that he had the hands of all those who worked on the Taj Mahal chopped so that they could never recreate such a structure ever again. It may or may not be true. Wikipedia seems to not really believe it.

ya shah jahan had executed the main designer and had orderd to cut hands of all the workers who had contributed in the making of taj mahal this is the story but what fact sayz. shah jahan also wanted to make a jahan mahal in front of taj wid black granite to resembel his grave but his hard luck cant make it posible. so question is that if he wanted to make another same structure why would he cut hands n why would he execute the designer b4 it get acomplished. well had seen it on discovery . but as indian belives he had done that brutual act.

Most Mughal kings were notorious for their cruelty. Shahjahan is said to cut the hands of the main architect of the Tajmahal. He had also tortured and killed many Sikh and Hindu saints. His own son Aurangzeb dethroned him and put him in a jail until his death after killing his three other sons (Aurangzeb's real brothers).

History echos killing between father and son in the Shajahan's family.....killing the chief architecture was no big game for them.
It sounds odd to say it was correct, but.........maybe Shajahan followed the motto of.........like they say, u know ..........
"Everything is fair in love and in war".

Nah...... he just got their thumbs cut down.Mi history teacher told and also It was aprivilige for the artists to get teir thums cut as It would mArk them as gr8 workers or artists.
