American voters showed their distaste for flip floppers in the 2004 election when they sent Kerry packing, for simply saying he voted for a resolution then voted against it when some pork was added to it.

So my question is how can a man (Romney) who said "I believe abortions should be kept safe and legal." and "I believe homos should be allowed to work in the Boy Scouts of America." think he can get away with saying that he has "changed his mind" on these black and white issues? And will American voters be stupid enough to believe him?

Since John Kerry, EVERY politician is being labeled a flip-flopper. I can't think of a single one on the national scene who hasn't changed his or her mind when it became expedient. As for Romney, why not? He seems to be as good as any one else that's running. It's a shame, though, that, because political races have become so dirty, no one with the ability to be a great president wants to run.

Re Abortion:

You can't legislate morality.
Trying to make abortions illegal is pointless. All that would happen is we'd revert to the days of the "Back Alley Abortions." Thats just dangerous. If a woman REALLY wants an abortion she will find a way and you can't stop her.

It does not matter that MY moral position is that abortion is wrong. I can't force anyone else to have that moral position.

BSA is not a government organisation.
BSA is a "Club" and can set any rules for membership that it wants.

If they just want left handed, redheaded, green eyed, Chinese, Jehova's Witnesses as members... thats fine. they wouldn't get many members, but thats thier problem, not the governments.

If you think that Kerry's statement about voting for it before he voted against it is the only reason he lost, you do not understand politics.

Cheers, mate.
