They parrott what they hear on hate radio. This is a Karl Rove strategy to frame the debate in terms of "winning" vs. defeat. Do you recall the Duh-cider saying that "nobody voted for defeat" in referring to the most recent election? Do you know how many days it took Rove to get him to deliver that line correctly?
Anyway, your point is spot-on and anybody with an IQ north of double-digits understands that.

First of all there is no civil war going on.A civil war occurs when two or more politically sustainable groups of people declare war on each other for the country's land.What you have in Iraq are various sects and militias and ethnic groups fighting it out who sometimes join together because they are Sunni or Shiite.In Iraq their politics are basically mobs and riots aside from the American sponsored elections. Second of all we win in Iraq if we stay there and develop a efficient Iraqi government and army it will create a prosperous and secular Iraq that will shine to the rest of the world.And also show the people of the middle east there is a different path from terrorism.God Bless America!!!

The biggest problem there is that, historically, Middle Eastern Muslims have proved themselves either unable or unwilling to rule themselves with any civility.
