Valentine's Day is supposedly to love your partner and show that you love him/her by offering roses , jewellery, presents etc. This is more of a show and commercially motivated.
If you really love someone then it should not be only on valentine's Day, show , give your love everyday... it does not matter much if you do not give a gift everyday. Gifts are tokens of love yes but above all love for the sake of love , our daily actions and appreciation of each other are the best love that we can show and give to each other.
Of course this applies to anyone whom you really care , love your friends sisters, brothers, parents etc.
Show and give your love to everyone at all times . show them respect , kindness and gratitude to all they represent for you during your life>

No, I dont really value only this day. For me life is great when everyday is Valentine's day and the love is extended to everyone around you (why just one person of the opposite sex whom you have an affair with) Anyway, big deal has been made out (a ploy by greeting card sellers and novelty manufacturers to sell their wares) Lovers and love existed even before these practices came into being

I think this is just another commercialized holiday for retail stores to make money with. If you love someone you do not need a special day to tell them. But if you don't give them something today, you feel guilty as hell. They got you.

Like any other so-called special day it is commercialized. If they did away with it, I would still love and value my loved ones and not just February 14th.

I used to love this day, but it seems like the older I get the more unimportant it becomes. It's not a big deal, really, it's just a way for companies to make money.

I agree everyday should be Valentines Day. But, it is a day to give your significant other a token of your love.

Sure we all love getting the candy and flowers, but mainly its just another commercial holiday that corporate america can use to guilt people into buying more things for other people.

i think valentines day has become waaayyyy too commercialized. jewelry, flower and candy companies have exploited the crap out of valentines day. my husband and i dont do vday or any other day where you are "supposed" to buy gifts. we celebrate our anniversary and our birthdays by going out to dinner but thats it. i think valentines day should be for kids, to make valentines for classmates and eat chocolate. imo, adults acting all mushy on vday is kinda ridiculous.

No. I believe in showing lots of love everyday; not just mainly on one day of the year.
