I like the field of chemsitry but it's not my passion. I don't even have a specific area that I would like to study. All that I know is I crave more knowledge.

As long as you crave more knowledge, that is an excellent reason to continue your schooling. We should all be life long learners, and grad school is a great way to do that.

As someone with several graduate degrees, I think you really must have a goal to use that knowledge. Knowledge for knowledges sake is great but it doesn't pay the bills. Sometimes working for a while gives you the opportunity to explore what you need to know as opposed to what you want to know. Graduate school is a different type of learning as well. Its not simple knowing, its applying what you know and synthesizing new knowledge.

Getting more education is always a good thing, but eventually you will have to get a job that will allow you to support yourself (and pay back all your student loans!). If you're going to invest the time and money in graduate school, you should pick a discipline that is interesting to you but will also lead to a career after graduation.
