You can learn...abstract art is the best kind, in my opinion. The online gaming websites use cartoonish images, right? Remember, Lucille Ball's drama teacher told her she had no talent!
Anything that you really love to do, you spend more time doing, and that's why you get good at it. Always follow your heart or you will fall on your head.
Good luck!

You can do anything you want no matter what age you are. Being an artist involves natural ability but with discipline you can learn anything.
At 15 you should not limit yourself to anything - especially 3D rendering and gaming.
By the way - absolutely everyone wants to be in gaming and in 3D rendering right now - it's the thing.
That could change, though by the time you are 20. If you are interested, do career research.
But - really - you should work on creating and expanding a vision for yourself in as many ways as possible. Carry a sketchbook with you - never leave it behind. Draw people, dogs, empty plates on the dinner table. Draw the cracks in walls as though they are rivers, draw crumbs on the kitchen floor as though they are monuments to long lost gods. Begin connecting your brain to your eyes to your hands. Sculpt. Paint. Draw.
All this will translate into whatever you do on the computer.
Don't worry about being good. Just make a lot of things in as many different ways as you can think of. Draw something, scan it in, play with it in Photoshop, print it out, paste it onto some cardboard, make a sculpture of it.
Experiment.
Look at the work of other artists. Don't fall sway to the siren song of anime and manga. Look at contemporary artists as well as people in the field you are interested in - you may be surprised to find that there is a lot of crossover.
Keep your eyes open and your hands moving.

Nah it's not too late. This kid I know who was pretty bad in art in highschool ended up getting his Masters in Fine Art from Yale recently and is now a creative director at a magazine in New York.
Practice as much as you can if you want to get into the gaming industry, play as many games as possible. Part of being a good artist is also training your eye, and since you are into graphics, the computer helps a lot. For instance there are great graphic artists who aren't great illustrators with a pencil and paper.

Too late? You're only 15! No, it is not too late. You do need SOME natural ability to be become great at something, but practice and fortitude, studying other artists and taking classes will get you far also. Passion is the most important component to being great at anything!

Try to remember this:
Art is: the IMITATION of life. Not the real thing!
If your great at Life than you will naturaly be great at Art.
I felt the same at 15 but now am 36.
I thought I wanted to do design work also
so I went to collage, got a degree, graduated and went into
the work field 'sucking' at what I did. Somehow I had come to the belief that Architecture was for me (probably something a girl had said once or twice or some stupid brainwashing info-commercial on TV) BUT it was NOT for me.
Please make sure that you choose something for your career that is fascinating to you and that you could spend your whole life studying and never get tired of. For me its turned out to be growing things... plants. Try spending some serious time doing whatever design you are now familiar with... then ask yourself... do I want to spend my whole life centered around this?
Just be patient. Don't make the same mistake I did. When you find out that one part of life that really makes you feel like... "Right On Dude!" than no matter what it is... do yourself the biggest favor you could ever do... make THAT your career. You do that and you will find out what it means to be truely happy and what it is to be truely at peace.

ANYONE can be good at art if they practice faithfully! Such is the same with anything.
But I must admit, it is scientific fact that most folks are either left or right brained. But if you really put yourself to it, u can be good. I am artsy. //// but it takes time, even for those who are "seemingly naturally inclined" to be artistic. There are actually "tips and tricks" to making your drawing skills come to life and such.
Keep on practicing!! U'll get the hang of it!~
GOD BLESS!!

practice practice practice.
it sounds lame... but its true.
you can take classes to become a better artist,
but you have to want to become a better artist.
and you have to have the time and the patience.
you also have to be your worst critic.
thats what my art professor told me.
dont forget that not everyone will like your design.
but as long as you are 100% content with it, its good.
its never too late to practice.
