Apparently, this natural phenom will turn otherwise intellegent people into brainless tools. How unfortunate those who tout scientific discovery are the same ones who outright ignore the rules of the scientific method.

I think it will be famine that gets billions of humans, especially since the world is going to run out of fossil energy about the same time it warms up to the point that much of our fertile crop-growing land becomes desert, and we can't find the fuel to transport fuel. The combination will be devastating.
